Trump had no reason to tear up that agreement, he did it because it was an agreement Obama had made, and Trump was hellbent on reversing everything Obama did out of spite and nothing else.
Yeah it's far from perfect, but it's still better than most countries in most ways.
Child protection however is an extremely difficult area, because getting it wrong is horrible, despite they think they are helping the child. In other situations, there really is a need to protect the child.

Probably not, the standard mode for social workers/services I've seen here in Denmark, is to double down, no matter how wrong their original decision was. It was their decision, and they are right by law, and it basically can't be questioned.

I remember reading about this late last year, and I remember not trusting that social worker or the process one bit.
I once watched a documentary about this kind of "social service" and some of their methods are 100% unscientific, and don't take personality traits or just moods into account, like whether a person is extro- or introvert. I even posted about it on feddit.dk, but was met with much skepticism. One of the things I saw, was that if a baby doesn't seek eye contact with a stranger holding it, it should be a sign that the mother doesn't give the baby enough attention! Yes really it's that stupid! When obviously it's more likely the baby doesn't appreciate a stranger.
I can't put into words how much I despise that kind of quackery! Because that's what it is.
But quackery is unfortunately standard procedure in social services. And social services even trump real doctors!!

If we get runaway climate change it's the end of ALL life on earth, not just humans. Humans will probably survive the longest, because we can create artificial means to sustain us.
Humans are already surviving from Sahara to beyond the arctic circles, I don't think other species are capable of that, except maybe bacteria.

I live in Denmark, and we used to have winters with constant frost for about a month around January/February.
The past few years it's been very few days with frost, and not even a month of consistent frost during nights!

The regulation is such an insane patchwork, sometimes people can retire earlier than the normal retirement age, if they've been working for many years. And if you health is bad there are special programs for that. (Yes as in multiple!)
But clearly as you state, the system is made to benefit the rich more an more. The social democrats who are part of the government are no longer looking after the average Joe, but making things worse, and then they make special programs for propaganda purposes.
A lot of people have been convinced this is necessary, as life expectancy increases, disregarding increased automation and wealth in our society.

Misleading title. It's really about cloud services. And Europe is already working on making itself independent of American cloud services.
We (Denmark) helped USA in both Iraq and Afghanistan. In Afghanistan we even had the highest rate of fatal casualties among allies, compared to the size of our population.
Now we are not buying American made defense equipment anymore, apart from contracts already signed, and we are working to get rid of Microsoft in government organizations and public services.
Many European countries are doing the same, no more helping the American military industrial complex, or the American government when they have an F35 program with budget overruns. Which we actually did when we signed our F35 contract with USA.
Too bad USA doesn't help Ukraine instead. USA even promised they would, when Ukraine gave up their nuclear arsenal!
Even under Biden the help was only halfhearted. The amount was significant, but the abilities of the equipment Ukraine was allowed to get was very restricted.
It's not just Trump and republicans who are guilty of making USA untrustworthy. We need to kick USA out of NATO, and invite other including non Atlantic democracies to join instead.

Nuclear war was as much a threat against North America as it was against Europe.
USA was also attacked by Japan in WW2, so USA too could conceivably be attacked again.
EU was to created in huge part to maintain peace in Europe.

I'm not saying Trump isn't awful, and things aren't bad. I also clearly state democracy in USA isn't safe yet.
But Trump is failing more than he is succeeding.
I am not American, but I really hope they will work to improve democracy. The concept of a president controlling the entire administration is both awful and not representative of the population. A democracy that result in a 2 party system is only barely a democracy.
