  • But that's my point, if the US went full fascist, it would not stop and think only about its internal politics. Trump's stated goal is to pull the US out of all its entanglements and responsibilities and turn its full attention towards China and mess with it.

And I don't think Trump is good for portfolios either. It might be good for the portfolio of Trump and some other people, but even the average Wall Street guy is losing out. See TACO.

  • When you have someone blow the double of the whole healthcare budget on Ukraine fearmongering, who has been supported by a practically unlimited EU budget, it becomes hard to campaign on Ukraine.

Magyar pledged to have a referendum on Ukraine joining, when the question actually comes up. I don't know what else he can do right now, considering the situation.

Most Hungarians support the unconditional early joining of Ukraine BTW, and a lot more support it if conditions are kept.

  • And the kicker is that Europeans went and died in Afghanistan when the US decided to invade it and called Art 5 using 9/11 as pretext. The whole reason those people died was that in this exact scenario the US would still be on our side. And it isn't.

  • Russia has seemingly broken itself by the war economy drive to the point hey are incapable of stopping the war on any terms, as it would immediately collapse the country.

If Ukraine were to capitulate, another war would immediately start, likely in Moldova, then the Baltics, then...

There is simply no peace until Russia reforms economically, societally and governmentally.

  • I think the Russians have enough depth near Melitopol that the bridge itself, despite being important is not the absolutely critical supply line it once was.

It is a symbol of Russia's efforts of integrating occupied Crimea though, that makes it a more important target.
