  • Sorry, maybe I didn't articulate that very well. Thanks for pointing that out. (Sites like this tend to favor short punchy responses lol)

I didn't mean like "haha lol rofl lulz" funny, but I appreciated how succinctly they pointed out the logical ridiculousness, the sheer morbid absurdity, of such a forum existing in the first place, and asked the question: "Well if what they're encouraging is so great, why haven't they done it themselves?" Which, logically, would likely end the forum itself.

It's like a self-defeating concept. It shouldn't be able to exist by its own definition.

Laying that out got a guilty chuckle out of me because it's such a bizarrely awful thing to exist and it was so simple a thought process to show how little sense it makes.

I only wish it was so obviously absurd to anybody who would dare to seek "community" there, but when people are beat down that much, it must be easy to miss the signs.

So absolutely, this is serious business and it really begs the question as to the motives of the people running it. Doubtful they're benevolent in the slightest. "Three tiny serial killers in a trenchcoat" feels pretty likely.

It's darkness through and through, and should be handled with utmost care and tact. I highly doubt anybody receives any actual "care" from this community, and would imagine its legacy is massive irreparable harm.

At worst, it's crowdsourced murder via psychology without any accountability on behalf of the perpetrators, when the victims could have possibly been led to better lives with the right intervention.

    That's a terrifying thought.

But yeah, I didn't mean to make light of anything. I only saw humor as a useful tool in cutting through the lies of the concept.

  • That's a pretty good point, and I agree. It was "This is a weird and sinister mystery!" and that's pretty much it.

I hope it at least builds some attention momentum for others with maybe more assets or connections at their disposal to hone in on what's really going on here and bring it to light.

  • This is good reporting. I'm glad there's still people who will notice this bizarre kind of thing and start digging.

Something is truly mind-boggling here, like where he's getting all this money from.

    This is disgusting.

  • Irritatingly unlikely, sadly.

Both parties have spent considerable time batting around the 2nd Amendment as a toy in their game. A polarizing empty-promise point with emotional strings attached, so now all the blowhard bullies sexually fetishize weaponry, and many of the types who would disagree with authoritarians are paralyzingly afraid and ignorant of anything "military looking" that makes loud noises.

"Because only cops and troops should have guns!" said the enlightened neoliberals, as they gladly handed over their responsibilities of self-protection and firearms education to the might-makes-right crowd.

"Muh freedom! An' 1776 or somethin'! An' own the libs, don't tread on me!" says the gun "collecting", MAGA-hat wearing, massive-smoking-diesel-truck-in-the-suburbs driving, angry and scared working man, who carries a copy of the Declaration of Independence (he hasn't actually read, or if so, cherry-picks the parts he likes) and is completely ignorant on the Bill of Rights, who loudly decries and slanders "The Government(TM)" ...but conveniently simps for his abusive bossman and "backs the blue" when they mercilessly beat a bunch of people waving signs and assault reporters. Who waves an unread Bible (also unread) around yet shows contempt and hatred for his neighbor. Who thinks a bunch of armed insurrectionists storming the Capital because they didn't like poll results aren't traitors.

    Lol.

    Lmao.

    God help us.

Many of the people who are opposed to this clown show have been successfully declawed and defanged if their legal processes have fallen apart, which we're watching happen in real time. They're also scabs who just want their creature comforts and will keep their heads down hoping "somebody else will take care of it."

  • The worship of limitless work and the military, a toxic obsession with hyper-individualism and isolation, with a paper-thin facade of morals and self-proclaimation of greatness, while everyone is broke, without opportunities, hooked on drugs, and stuck with crumbling infrastructure in vast stretches of remote nothing-land, while getting used and abused by multinational corporations and barons?

Sounds like they're just pushing the mentality of the southern states to a national level.

  • Gentle reminder that a term of military service is compulsory in Israel.

So regardless of brainwashing, kids, even criminally misguided ones, getting blown to pieces due to the whims of wicked old bastards with genocide fantasies, is a net negative for mankind.

  • Annnd "Open"AI goes full evil, to the surprise of absolutely no one.

And the military is going for this? Yikes.

"Ah, my mistake! I suppose that was a bunch of civilians with signs and not combatants with weapons after all. Let's try again. Anyway, is there anything I can help you with?"

  • That's exactly the strategy. He's basically a human (term used loosely) "Denial of Service" attack on our collective psyche.

Constant output of garbage information we're forced to evaluate, until we're overwhelmed, overloaded, and shut down from being mired in so much sheer volume of stupidity.

  • I'm glad I could be helpful!

Thankfully, the cell signal situation has improved a LOT among major routes in recent years, so I hope it doesn't sound too scary. There's also safety in numbers, at the very least the buddy system! :)

There's a lot of online information / guides for travelers, and of course, get a U.S SIM card and check who's got the best/broadest service areas where you'll be going. Also, offline maps can be downloaded to your device as well.

(But learning to use a paper one is always an excellent skill to have!)

In case of an emergency, phones can still usually reach 911 (our emergency services number) if they can reach a cell tower at all, regardless of "subscription", if that's of any comfort. :)

  • I like the way you explain your Anarchist stances. I'm a Christian Anarchist myself, and see anarchism as a society in a similar light as personally trying to be like Jesus: It may be a state of perfection we, in our imperfections, cannot attain, but if everyone was trying their best towards a cooperative society free of authoritarian hierarchal peepee-swinging, maybe things would be much better overall.

Daring to believe in a better world and exert whatever influence we have to do so, takes a strong inner fire, and a lot of people miss the point when they think we just wanna tear it all down without a plan and start from scratch next week and it would all be unicorns and rainbows overnight.

  • I wish your friend safety in their travels!

Lol what degree of douchebag would downvote your comment, holy cow LOL.

I sincerely commend the positivity and kindness you've been bringing to this thread with warmly inviting people to flee to Canada.

Edit: Although maybe you're being a bit harsh further down. :( It doesn't have to be so personal? People are just discussing stuff. Let's not let the decisions of stupid men in power deter us from productive discussion.

  • In general I think they're mostly referring to the fact that the U.S is ridiculously BIG. Like, most visitors freak out at how long you can drive through almost nothing here, when going between major population areas.

Driving through wilderness without a lot of extra water and a cellular connection, and maybe a spare tire, for example, is foolhardy.

Along the way, especially in "The South", you'll find the loveliest, kindest people, but you'll also find various, (probably politically motivated, lately) sadists/racists/bullies, some of which may be small-town law enforcement looking for excitement.

The law can be more "flexible" without major oversight in such places, and with the cult of the orange tyrant emboldening the prejudiced lately, that could spell trouble.

There's also various kinds of unsavory types as you'd find in any other country; I'm talking criminals, swindlers, and various weirdos of ill intent, and some stretches of the country are remote. Like, "no signal and it goes on and on in all directions until you see the earth curve" remote.

The vast majority of people are lovely, and would probably welcome and appreciate foreigners, the worst you'd deal with is getting a migraine from stupid but friendly questions about your accent or where you're from.

But like anywhere else, you need your wits about you.

    In short:

Lovely place where many sights and adventures can be had! The biggest dangers are the roads and wilderness, basically.

    • Don't mess with wildlife.
    • Don't go off exploring remote areas in which you have no business
    • Don't underestimate the wilderness and go unprepared.
    • Practice the same street smarts as you would anywhere else, like don't go getting into strangers' cars or accepting random open beverages.

Setting aside the anomalous political tensions right now, the biggest danger to travelers to this country is seeing it as a big theme park where they can't possibly put themselves in any danger. Your average park rangers have plenty of horror stories about that, I'm sure, like idiots trying to selfie in front of buffalo or stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon, or falling into Yellowstone's tranquil but literally boiling hot springs...

Don't be that tragic idiot . . .and you'll likely have a fantastic time.

    Hope this helps. :)

  • This sounds just like all the ridiculously hollow propaganda Putin was dropping for justifying the attack on Ukraine.

"We're rescuing them from uh, really bad people, er... By invading them, yes. They wanna be Russian so bad!"
