  • Americans are always about how we hate the government of a country but not the people, at least this American is and all the Americans I know are, I know it’s not literally universal. To say “I hate the Iranian government but not Iranian people” seems pretty reasonable if you hate the Iranian government but for them to turn around and basically say “well I consider all American entities, including completely powerless civilians free game” is fucked I’m no matter how you look at it. Like wtf more do you want from me? I vote against this, have for decades, I protest against this have been since W was in office, I donate money and energy to war torn countries, I’m absolutely against bombing any country why exactly am I considered fair game?? Fuck anyone who lumps entire countries of people into a single hive-mind that serves its leader, a fraudulent one no less

  • Islam is hell for women but this is a thin veneer of lies to justify something he already wanted to do. I hope one day no Muslim women exist because Islam hates women so deeply they realize no loving or reasonable god would create a system reliant on their subjugation and leave.

  • I’m reading this book called Heartland that actually really deep dives into why so many Americans are ok with this, the fact of the matter is huge parts of the US have been living in abject poverty since basically always and it’s part of their culture to not need much, wanting things is looked down on as weakness, it’s a cultural part of long term poverty for huge swaths of the US, that living a hard life is the only way to live, there’s obviously many layers to this but it’s not a thing you can just think your way out of (because not getting educated is also part of this culture) since culture and identity are so deeply intertwined and you see that culture being actively promoted and spread via “trad culture” which is very much popular, especially with young men, trad is just code for poor

  • “The widely-expected decision to take the award back from Sarkozy came despite the opposition of current French President Emmanuel Macron, who said in April that he thought that it was important for "former presidents to be respected." First of all fuck you and your pedophile wife Macron and second of all this award was created by Napoleon himself, what about respecting him, or your history or what the award actually stands for?

  • The pipeline from “crunchy to conspiracy” is very real. There always been some conspiracy on the left and far left of course don’t get me wrong but now with social media, algorithms, troll farms etc. those who are predisposed to conspiratorial thinking are going over the cliff. It was simply a matter of finding which topics they could exploit, like vaccines which originally mainly had those on the left being against them. You can still be very left while believing and supporting right wing ideas and policy because it has been presented to you in a way you find palatable and appealing and of course gives you plausible deniability that it’s actually some how not right wing allowing both your ego and identity to survive the shift.

A lot of far left supporters actually support some wildly oppressive, authoritarian and ableist ideas

  • I think lots of countries enforce things like animal welfare but animals are property, they don’t have “rights” you’re just required to not abuse them, and often the definition of “not abusive” is still pretty abusive/negligent

  • Yeah obviously they were there to enter they said it over and over… how else would aid get in if actually getting in wasn’t the plan? Even if they weren’t there to enter, for some reason, the fact that they said they were going to enter so many times would be considered credible
