  • These are contradictory statements, it makes no sense. When you say that "Ukraine can do whatever they need to do [in the face of] an illegal invasion and genocidal statements and actions" YOU are also saying that they can use deadly force. YOU are advocating violence on behalf of Ukraine. But if we flip the bit from Ukraine to Palestine suddenly it breaks the TOS?

  • OK, got it. So, according to you and the rules of the community, Ukraine is supposed to defend itself with strongly worded letters to the editor. Maybe my ancestors who fought for Greek freedom and independence were violent extremists. Even got my comment removed by mod for saying as much. How lovely. The door. Of course.

I hope one day you will realize the double standard that you're applying to the Palestinian struggle for freedom and how this double standard was part of the things that enable their Genocide. Hopefully by then, there will still be Palestinians in Palestine.

    The door.

  • Destroying an army is not an extermination program either. It's called war. Members of that group can choose to leave that group. It's called deserting. Under international law, the UN charter, Palestinians fighting against the IDF, using armed violence against the occupation is a legitimate war. Are you denying the right of Palestinians to fight a war for their freedom?

  • The IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. It's the law.

  • Let’s be precise here: the IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. Period.

Bob Vylan are not calling for the destruction of an ethnicity, a religion, a nation. They are calling for the destruction of a genocidal army. Just like the South African Defence Forces of the South African Apartheid era absolutely deserved to be destroyed as a criminal organization, so do the Israeli Defence Forces of the Israeli Apartheid era.

Conscription was also mandatory in Apartheid South Africa for whites. This does not absolve the whites who participated in Apartheid. Jewish history itself teaches us that "following orders" is not an excuse for carrying out a genocide. It is clear in fact, that the mandatory nature of the conscription is a mechanism for making all Israelis complicit, and should be a target for abolition by Israelis of conscience themselves, again, just like in Apartheid South Africa. And of course, it fucking is.

Death to apartheid and death to its institutions. Never again this shit, for anyone, anywhere.

  • The only thing nazis were right about was when Hitler bit the barrel of his gun. Fuck nazis. Our Jewish brothers and sisters out here in the diaspora are not to blame for what the Israeli fascist regime is doing.

  • If you're referring to the "Death to the IDF" chant, let's be extremely fucking precise here: the IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. Period.

And Bob Vylan are not calling for the destruction of an ethnicity, a religion, a nation. They are calling for the destruction of a genocidal army. Just like the South African Defence Forces of the South African Apartheid era absolutely deserved to be destroyed as a criminal organization, so do the Israeli Defence Forces of the Israeli Apartheid era.

  • What's really fucked up is that, at this point, this kind of story hits much harder to me as a westerner, than the stories about shootings in food lines. Because food lines and random wanton shootings are not something I can easily relate to and I've heard it so many goddamn fucking times that I've been numbed. But the bombing of a seaside café, I feel that. That's a part of me that hasn't been numbed yet.

    Motherfuckers.

Stop the genocide, death to apartheid.

  • So their US visas got revoked. Meh. Who needs to go to the US anyway, who needs to be interrogated by some fascist chode at the border.

  • Would it kill you to not jokingly deny the humanity of every person outside the United States, Liberia, and the Cayman Islands? Just say Fahrenheit. Jeez, yank.

  • Reminder that it is Israeli right wingers themselves that have opened that door by saying that Hamas are worse than Nazis and comparing the October 7th attacks to the Holocaust.

  • Whoever told you Israel is a democracy lied to you. Israel is a democracy the way Apartheid South Africa was a democracy.

  • Good point, the IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance

  • By the way, do apply the same logic to the Hamas fighters.

  • I edited my comment since I made it. Here is the newer version. Bold the bit that I think adresses your concern.

Edit: why is "death to the IDF" mild compared to "death to Arabs"? You can choose to not join or to leave the IDF (it might cost you some jail time, but if that's the price for keeping one's soul, so be it). You can at the very least not self-identify with it and distance yourself from what it has become. Basically, there are many off ramps out of the IDF. There are no ramps off of existing as an Arab.

  • "Death to the IDF" is not what I would chant, but it's honestly mild compared to the kinds of slogans (eg. "Death to Arabs" and "Let your village burn") West-funded, West-supported, West-armed, and West-protected-from-accountability Israeli fanatics chant before committing actual fucking atrocities. Hell, it's mild compared to the Amalek rhetoric of Israeli state leadership.

  • What's that flag?

Gaza: UN experts demand safe passage for Freedom Flotilla Coalition - Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights)

GENEVA – UN experts today called for safe passage for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s ship carrying essential medical aid, food, and baby supplies to Gaza which departed from Italy on 1 June 2025.

“Aid is desperately needed for the people of Gaza to forestall annihilation, and this initiative is a symbolic and powerful effort to deliver it. Israel should remember that the world is watching closely and refrain from any act of hostility against the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and its passengers,” the experts said.

“The people of Gaza have the right to receive aid through their own territorial waters even under occupation, and the Coalition ship has the right to free passage in international waters to reach the people of Gaza,” they said. “Israel must not interfere with its freedom of navigation, long recognised under international law.”
